It is a 9 universal month in August. The 9 represents in part, universality, and that we are all “in this together”, so to speak. It concerns itself with long distance for example, and various types of foreign relations. It also represents an expansion, or broadening of our experiences all the while there is a completion, or an ending, or a tying up loose ends at the same time. To explain more simply, the 9 can also mean war, to argue and fight for a “cause”. On its higher level the 9 represents forgiveness, service to many, and compassion. Therefore, August is a very busy month in many ways. Still there is a sense, that feeling as if “I don’t know for sure” where it’s all leading, because much is happening at the same time. Even if things on the surface seem still and unmoving, underneath one can energetically feel that something is certainly brewing.  

Add to this that there are 2 eclipses, the solar eclipse new moon on August 1, 2008 in Leo and the lunar eclipse full moon on August 16, 2008 in Aquarius and you can have your hands full prioritizing which experiences are seed new beginnings for you  which are  expanding, and which are coming to completion, to an end. Suns signs, for example, most affected this month are Leo and Aquarius. However, we all, each in our own way are feeling the energies on some level or another. 

In general, there will be “seeds” of new beginnings, which occurred on around August 1 at the solar eclipse new moon, as well as the “seeds” of completion, or harvest at the lunar eclipse full moon on or around August 16th. During the time of the full moon eclipse including a few days before and after, be very aware of how you are expressing yourself. Be aware of how much drive you have in wanting to get ahead. Try not to be short tempered. Practice patience with yourself and others during this period. During the full moon eclipse be certain that you want something to end, or come to completion. If you are not certain, do not complete or end it, because during this time, if it is over, it will be over, and there would only be a very slim, or no chance at all to resurrect the relationship for example, situation, or project. 

It is also a time of watching one’s ego or how much one really knows as opposed to how much one thinks one knows. The same holds true for the “who is right who is wrong” theme. There may be more than a few people who might experience the “know it all” kind of attitude during this time, and competition could run higher than usual. So, it would be good to either compromise and/or tone down any battles of intelligence or will, otherwise, it could become pretty argumentative during this time.

Eclipses in general highlight some area you need to be aware. According to astrologer Bernadette Brady these two particular eclipses in August 2008 represent in part, according to her interpretation, “…breaking out of a very negative situation where no hope can be seen to a more positive space containing many options…The solution is shown by the Cosmos and needs to be taken up without too much delay…” To me, these eclipses have more of a positive impelling energy that can be felt over time, even though the new beginnings may be accompanied by uncomfortable change(s) that may have to be made.
 
So, something “lights up” around you. This could be pleasant or uncomfortable, yet it is some area of your life or situation for example, that needs brought to attention. However, not everything is always revealed during an eclipse time. It could take at least 3 months up to a year for what is spotlighted or revealed to fully be realized or manifested in ways. So, in many ways, August 2008 is certainly a very important month of being aware, and of the seed energy of new beginnings and endings, which could have an important impact in some way for you and for your future.
